Hassan el Soghaiar "Ballaja"

Hassan el Soghaiar was born in Embarkab (Nubia) in Upper Egypt. He sings a medley of traditional Nubian songs recast in more cosmopolitan styles, a trend which has gained Nubian music audiences worldwide.
Hassan lives part of the year in Alexandria where his voice and repertoire are sought after, not only by the large Nubian community, but by Egyptians from all parts of the country and all walks of life especially for wedding parties.
